Tan Uyen City has about 1,000 delegates attending Chol Chnam Thmay Traditional New Year Festival
On the morning of March 20, Mr. Doan Hong Tuoi, Chairman of Tan Uyen City People's Committee chaired a meeting to listen to reports on the organization of activities on the occasion of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year of the Khmer people in the city in 2025; activities in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day on April 21.
To celebrate the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year of the Khmer people (April 13-15, 2025), Tan Uyen City will organize the Chol Chnam Thmay New Year Festival, scheduled for mid-April 2025 at the City Square. The festival was attended by 1,000 delegates including leaders of the province, city, commune, ward and Khmer ethnic people living in the city.
As planned, the festival will include cooking contest, offering tray display; ethnic dance, traditional costume performance; folk games... The ceremony included the following main contents: reading congratulatory letters to Khmer people on the occasion of Chol Chnam Thmay; speeches by city leaders; presenting gifts to Khmer youth and union members in difficult circumstances; announcing results and awarding prizes for the festival program competitions.
On the same day, Tan Uyen City will also organize activities in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day on April 21. Accordingly, Tan Uyen City will have many response activities such as: exhibitions, book displays, artistic book stacking models; mobile book cart service; games, reading promotion activities. Along with that, the city will organize online book reading contests, book promotion contests, children's art award contests, children's story-telling contests based on books; and actively participate in provincial-level contests.
