Provincial Red Cross associations at all levels have implemented and organized numerous meaningful humanitarian activities. Among them, the campaign of "Each organization, each individual associates with a humanitarian address" has been widely carried out and left a profound impact.

Timely support

Over the past time, Binh Duong effectively implemented various social welfare programs, yielding significant results and contributing to improving the quality of people’s life. However, many families and individuals with difficult circumstances still require collective support from all-level authorities, sectors and the society. Along with these efforts, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels have played a key role as a bridge in humanitarian activities, mobilizing resources to care for and assist those in need.

Only those who have truly experienced hardship can fully appreciate the meaningful and practical support for the campaign. One such case is Nguyen Quynh Nhu, a resident of quarter 8, Phu Loi ward, Thu Dau Mot city, who has received assistance through this humanitarian campaign.

At school age, Nhu was unfortunately diagnosed with kidney disease and has been undergoing dialysis for several years, forcing her to drop out of school. Her family is in a extremely difficult circumstance. They are living in a lodging room and her father, who has to take care of Nhu, does not have a stable job and takes on any work he can find. Meanwhile, her two older sisters are still in school and her mother is the only one with a steady job, but her income as a factory worker is not high.

Knowing about the difficult situation of Nhu's family and her illness, for over a year, the Red Cross Society of quarter 8 has mobilized donors to support her with VND 300,000 per month. In recent months, the ward’s Red Cross Society has also provided her with gifts through the "Nutrition for Poor Children" program. Le Hong Lam, Như’s father, shared that the ward and quarter 8’s Red Cross Society always care for and support his daughter. "On average, Nhu has to undergo dialysis three times a week, sometimes four times, and each session requires traveling to Ho Chi Minh City, which is quite costly. The support for our family is truly meaningful. Thanks to this assistance, we have additional financial resources each month to help cover her medical treatment costs", Mr. Lam shared.

Cao Thi Lan Huong, Chairwoman of Phu Loi ward’s Red Cross Society shared that along with Như’s case, there are 11 other humanitarian addresses in the ward currently receiving monthly support through the campaign. On average, each address receives gifts or cash assistance of at least VND 300,000 per month. All support is mobilized through social resources by the local Red Cross Society.

To support right people at right addresses, every year, the ward’s Red Cross Society reviews cases in need to be closer to reality and promptly support those in more difficult circumstances.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Anh Diep, Chairwoman of Ben Cat city’s Red Cross Society stated that the campaign has been implemented in connection with “Studying and Following Ho Chi Minh’s Ideology, Morality, and Lifestyle” and the movement of “Good People, Good Deeds – Joining Hands to Build a Compassionate Community”.

To ensure the effective implementation of the campaign, the city’s Red Cross Society has collaborated with the city’s Radio Station to regularly promote the campaign’s purpose, significance and results while highlighting exemplary organizations and individuals, introducing cases in need of support, to encourage organizations and individuals to contribute and assist disadvantaged people in the society. In 2024, local authorities in Ben Cat city surveyed and compiled a list of 161 individuals in need of assistance. Based on these specific cases, all-level Red Cross Societies of the city have mobilized 67 organizations and individuals to provide resources for regular monthly aid. The total value of support provided last year was more than VND 722 million.

Enhancing effectiveness

To ensure that the campaign of “Each organization, each individual associates with a humanitarian address” can support more disadvantaged lives, the campaign's steering committees at all levels have focused on strengthening communication efforts. These efforts aim at raising authorities, organizations and individuals’ awareness and responsibility regarding the campaign’s purpose and significance. The review process for individuals with particularly difficult circumstances is regularly carried out to ensure that no one in need is overlooked.

With the motto of "Everyone does good deeds, every household does good deeds, every sector does good deeds", the campaign has received significant attention and support from local authorities, political and social organizations, businesses, religious groups and donors. Their active contributions have helped many disadvantaged individuals improve their lives, rising up in life.

Building on the practical effectiveness of this meaningful campaign over the past time, the mobilization of organizations and individuals to care for and support humanitarian addresses has continued being promoted and strengthened by provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels in the coming time. With the spirit of “mutual affection and mutual love” and empathy for those with difficult circumstances, many organizations and individuals are actively connecting, sharing and assisting humanitarian cases through this campaign. This support not only provides humanitarian addresses with conditions to overcome immediate difficulties, but also gives them hope, resilience and opportunities to overcome difficulties, contributing to promoting social welfare and sustainable development of the province.

According to statistics from provincial Red Cross Society, in 2024, the whole organization surveyed, set up lists and provided regular (monthly) assistance to 1,631 humanitarian cases, with a total support amount exceeding VND 5.3 billion .In the first quarter of 2025, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels  continued their efforts, visiting and offering assistance to 1,570 humanitarian cases, with total support reaching over VND 1.4 billion.
