Phu Giao’s Red Cross Society implements numerous activities supporting disadvantaged people and students

As part of the activities in response to the 2025 Humanitarian Month, Phu Giao district’s Red Cross Society has recently awarded 20 scholarships worth VND 2.2 million each, including VND 2 million in cash and gifts worth VND 200,000, to 20 poor-but-excellent students. Additionally, the organization distributed gifts to 180 underprivileged households.

The total cost for the scholarships and gifts amounted to VND 134 million, which was mobilized by the Red Cross from local units and donors. These efforts aimed at sharing the burden and provide additional support to disadvantaged people and students, helping them improve their lives and strive for a better future.

*In response to the nationwide emulation campaign “Joining hands to eliminate substandard houses”, Phu Giao district’s Red Cross Society also coordinated with relevant units to hand over a Red Cross house to a family in need of housing in An Thai commune.

Accordingly, the house was handed over to the family of Nguyen Thi Thuy, residing in An Thai commune’s Tan Binh hamlet. The house has a total area of 65 square meters and was built with a total cost of over VND 118.5 million. Of the total figure, Phu Giao district’s Red Cross Society contributed VND 80 million while the remainder was funded through donations mobilized by An Thai communal Red Cross Society and additional support from the family’s relatives.
