Joining hands to promote a civilized and cultural way of life
In 2025, the operations and movements of the Farmers’ Union at all levels have been creatively integrated with the promotion of cultural and civilized lifestyles, the building of progressive residential communities, the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values of the nation.
Focusing on propaganda
Accordingly, provincial Farmers’ Union has focused on leading and directing its subordinate unions to strengthen political, ideological education and promote the Party’s policies and guidelines, and the State’s laws related to agriculture, farmers and rural areas. These include good models, exemplary actions, outstanding farmers and successful agricultural entrepreneurs. Additionally, campaigns to study and follow Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle have been actively promoted.
In addition to awareness-raising activities, grassroots Farmers’ Unions have also implemented specific programs to create an engaging environment for members and officials, thereby enhancing the impact of the union’s movements within communities. For example, in Tan Uyen city, the city-level Farmers’ Union has recently organized a “Back to the Roots” trip, a study tour of cooperative economic models and a folk music exchange program featuring farmers and Don Ca Tai Tu (traditional Southern music) in Thanh Hoi commune. These programs created opportunities for grassroots unions to exchange experience, strengthen cooperation and foster cohesion and effectiveness among different levels of the union system in building a cultural lifestyle and reinforcing strong union organizations. They also served to raise awareness among officials and members about building a cultural and civilized lifestyle and promoting rural cultural development.
Furthermore, Tan Uyen Farmers’ Union launched a “Tree Planting Festival” campaign, promoting the importance and role of afforestation, reforestation, natural resource and environmental protection to all officials and members. The Union also encouraged its local branches to coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to support the "Eternal Gratitude to Uncle Ho Tree Planting Festival" campaign. Trees were planted in open spaces around agencies, residential areas, homes, gardens, roadsides, riversides, canals, hills and vacant land.
In line with the city-level union's guidance, Farmers’ Unions at the ward and commune levels registered for specific responsibilities in managing the number of trees planted, ensuring high survival rates and healthy growth. They also increased information dissemination, consultation, and technical support, including seedling supply, to help farmers implement the movement effectively. These efforts contribute to developing a green economy and turning tree planting into a cultural tradition.
Upholding the spirit of “mutual assistance and compassion”
Over the past period, Farmers’ Unions across the province have actively upheld the traditional spirit of "mutual assistance and compassion", engaging with communities in social welfare activities and spreading a culture of kindness, empathy and support for those in need. Specific initiatives include presenting gifts to disadvantaged students with academic achievements, supporting poor farmers, donating “Farmers’ Warm Shelters” and promoting the movement of “Farmers Compete in Production, Business Excellence, Unity to Enrich Together and Reduce Sustainable Poverty”.
Additionally, Farmers’ Unions at all levels have encouraged members and farmers to participate in implementing National Target Programs. They launched campaigns for union officials, members, and farmers to join the province-wide movement of “All Join Hands to Build New Rural Areas” integrating other ongoing programs and projects in rural communities.
Moreover, provincial Farmers’ Union has strengthened the direction of its subordinate unions to implement the movement for building new rural areas and civilized urban areas. Provincial Party Committee’s Project No. 02-DA/TU on “Promoting Mass Mobilization in Building a Cultural and Civilized Lifestyle in Binh Duong province in the period of 2021–2025” and the “Civilized Saturday” campaign have also been launched. These efforts have created widespread impact throughout the union system, encouraging union officials and members to actively participate in local community activities such as preserving the environment, managing self-governed farmer roads, developing bright, green, clean and beautiful rural areas, ensuring environmental sanitation, building a civilized, friendly and compassionate cultural lifestyle.
In recent times, Farmers’ Unions across the province have effectively upheld the tradition of “mutual assistance and compassion”, engaging in social welfare and spreading the spirit of kindness and solidarity to support people in need. Initiatives include donating gifts to diligent students from disadvantaged backgrounds, supporting poor farmers, building “Farmers’ Warm Shelters” and promoting the “Excellent Farmers Compete in Business and Production, Unite to Enrich and Reduce Poverty Sustainably” movement. |
