Draft resolutions on key projects approved at 102th session of provincial People’s Committee

On the afternoon of June 23, Vo Van Minh, Vice Secretary of provincial Party Committee and Chairman of provincial People’s Committee presided over the 102nd session of provincial People’s Committee. The session was attended by Vice Chairpersons of provincial People’s Committee and leaders of provincial departments, agencies and sectors.

During the meeting, 13 agenda items were approved and opinions were given on 9 draft documents, including the Resolution on adjusting the BOT project for upgrading and expanding National Highway 13 (with expected investment of over VND 6,200 billion, capital to be recovered through toll collection, ensuring synchronization as Ho Chi Minh city is planning to invest about VND 13,000 billion to upgrade and expand the section of National Highway 13 from Binh Trieu Bridge to the Binh Duong boundary, helping ease traffic congestion along the route; the Resolution on the investment policy to complete the My Phuoc – Tan Van expressway (with estimated investment of VND 20,158 billion under the PPP model and toll collection, covering the section from National Highway 1A to the Ho Chi Minh Road, with a scale of 6 to 10 lanes, including 19 underpasses and overpasses); etc.

The meeting also provided direction for assigning tasks to research and propose an investment plan for an elevated road project, from the Go Dua interchange to the Khanh Van Bridge interchange, under the PPP method. This project will serve as a key arterial route, connecting belt road 2, belt road 3 and belt road 4, contributing to the most efficient transport of goods and passengers to downtown Ho Chi Minh city. It will also link major industrial zones with seaports such as Cat Lai, Thi Vai, and Hiep Phuoc. The total project length is over 15.5 km, with an urban road width of 60 meters, including 8 traffic lanes, of which 6 will be elevated…At the meeting, members of provincial People’s Committee and leaders of departments and agencies presented and contributed opinions to finalize the reports and draft documents.

In concluding the meeting, Vo Van Minh, Chairman of provincial People's Committee generally agreed with the contents of the draft resolutions. At the same time, he emphasized the need to promptly appraise the dossiers related to mineral (construction stone) mining sites in the province to ensure compliance with regulations, thereby securing a stable supply of construction materials for key transportation and infrastructure projects in the area. In terms of major projects involving adjustments to connecting transportation infrastructure, he stressed that procedures must be properly completed in accordance with regulations before being submitted to provincial People's Council for approval.
