High potential for development
In recent years, Thuan An city has experienced rapid industrialization and urbanization. The city has been actively directing efforts and mobilizing various resources to accelerate urban development in line with the region's overall spatial development plan. This lays the foundation for Thuan An to soon become a center of urban services and commerce within the province. Accordingly, the master plan for the overall adjustment of Thuan An city's general planning through 2040 has been approved, aiming at building and developing the city into a smart, civilized and modern urban area. Thuan An is designated as a large-scale service and industrial urban center in the southern part of the province while also playing a key role in connecting the northern urban system with Ho Chi Minh city, serving as an important traffic hub.
To establish Thuan An as the province's central city for services and commerce, a regional-level commercial center has been planned in the area. This commercial complex will include shopping malls, financial and banking service centers, hotels and luxury apartment buildings. It will be developed in the central area of Lai Thieu ward, spanning from both sides of National Highway 13 to Nguyen Van Tiet street. According to the master plan, this area will feature five major commercial centers, large hospitals, international schools and a golf course. High-rise buildings, luxury apartment complexes and symbolic landmarks of Binh Duong province will also be located in this zone.
Accordingly, infrastructure development to support the goal of transforming Thuan An into the province’s central city for services and commerce will be strongly promoted. Binh Duong province has been mobilizing all available resources to accelerate the progress of key projects, especially site clearance for the expansion of National Highway 13 and the construction of Ho Chi Minh City’s belt road No. 3. As planned, numerous new projects will also be implemented in Thuan An to serve the city’s socio-economic development. Some prominent projects proposed by the province include the Saigon River embankment from Vinh Phu ward to the boundary with Thu Dau Mot city, a new General Hospital, the development of urban parks in Binh Hoa, Binh Chuan wards and the An Binh – Bau Bang railway line.
